Seong-gyu, a wealthy man, foresaw that leaving his son with a large inheritance and no family would make him vulnerable to unscrupulous individuals. To protect Cheol-ho, Seonggyu legally acknowledged Ji-eun, a child born between Seong-gyu and his mistress, as his daughter after thirty years of estrangement. Ji-eun discovers that she has also been appointed as Cheol-ho's guardian. Seong-gyu has tricked her into a financial trap that requires her to keep Cheol-ho alive for over 10 years if she wants to be eligible for inheritance.
